CLSA Publications ships all domestic orders via United Parcel Service (UPS) to ensure shipments can be tracked. If the customer prefers an alternative shipping method (e.g., United States Postal Service, or USPS), it is the responsibility of the customer to request this service. The warehouse will accommodate for USPS shipment with the following qualification: since these orders cannot be tracked to the door, CLSA Publications assumes no liability for replacing lost items. However, all orders shipped via UPS are insured and eligible for reimbursement of lost items.

For orders shipped in the United States by United Parcel Service (UPS):
  • UPS Ground: Calculate US$4.00 for each volume up to twenty volumes; calculate $1.00 for each additional volume over twenty
  • UPS Second Day Air: UPS Ground shipping cost (see above) plus US$20.00 ("Rush Order" fee)

Please note that all domestic web orders automatically default to UPS shipment. If you wish to have your order shipped via USPS, please place your order by calling CLSA Publications at (301) 362-8197.

FOR INTERNATIONAL ORDERS (shipped outside the US):

The shipping scale for international orders is calculated using the actual shipping costs incurred by UPS or USPS. These costs are determined by 1) the international group/zone where the item(s) are being shipped, and 2) the weight of the package.

At this time, orders with an international delivery destination may be completed only by contacting the Publications Warehouse at (301) 362-8197 or via email at The Publications Department will handle and fulfill your order by phone/email, providing a shipping quote and/or adjusted invoice, as necessary.

Customers should be prepared to provide the country and postal code for the order's destination. Customers will be advised on the calculated price of the shipment, as indicated using approved UPS/USPS metrics and the weight classification of the package. This quoted price will include a $5.25 handling fee.

The customer may choose to ship internationally via United States Postal Service (USPS), but in doing so, the customer assumes all responsibility and fees for the package once it leaves the warehouse in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. (This includes any and all fees or delays associated with customs review or regulations.) While the USPS form of shipment may be ideal for North American customers, the warehouse advises customers who reside outside of North America to use United Parcel Service (UPS). UPS provides package tracking and insurance outside of the United States.

PLEASE NOTE: If you place a web order intended for international shipment by selecting a domestic shipping option, your order will be suspended and/or cancelled until billing charges are rectified in accordance with the policy outlined above.

If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the CLSA Publications Department at (301) 362-8197.
